Hi, my name is Effie Fiona Mbuvi, the founder of Kua Nasi. I was born and raised in Ruai, a warm and close-knit location on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. My early years were filled with love and laughter, but they were also profoundly reshaped by the sudden loss of my father. This life-altering moment made me acutely aware of how financial stability can shape a woman's future—whether widowed, married, or single.

As I watched my mother navigate the entrepreneurial landscape, I saw firsthand the barriers that even educated, hardworking women like her faced. It wasn’t just about having talent or great ideas—it was about access: access to financial resources, fair markets, and growth opportunities.

My mother, like so many others, refused to give in to the limitations placed upon her. She redefined her path again and again, and in doing so, she redefined ours. It became clear to me that entrepreneurship is not just a means of earning a living—it is a powerful transformative tool for empowering women who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
